This interdisciplinary course is facilitated by Dr. Turzo DO and Dr. Bronson DDS. The course will include lectures and labs in the subject matter of diagnosing and treating facial growth dysfunctions (i.e. malocclusion) with osteopathy, myofunctional therapy and the ALF (Alternative Lightwaire Functionals) appliances. 

Each weekend session will include lectures and labs on diagnosing and treating facial growth dysfunctions and affect on airway, tongue ties, breathing, posture, and cranial motion. The participants will acquire a strong foundation in dental, osteopathic and myofunctional terminology and treatments. 

Learn early diagnosis and interventions of facial growth dysfunctions (malocclusion) in children. ALF cases are presented by dentists and reviewed with ostepathic, ALF and myofunctional perspectives. Labs include the diagnosis and treatment of cranial strain patterns and malocclusions, osteopathic guidance for the ALF adjustments, as well as pre and post-frenectomy specific treatments. Lectures and labs are given on the mechanics of the ALF and how the activation of the appliances affect craniofacial motion as well as diagnosing and treating breathing dysfunctions, diagnosis intra oral dysfunctions, and their effect on the cranial mechanism. This is an indepth comprehensive course for the osteopath interested in mastering craniofacial dysfunction.

Course Timing:
Friday and Saturday course starts 8:30 AM to between 5-6 PM.
Sunday starts at 9:00 AM and ends before 12:00 PM.

Location:
The course is presented at the StayBridge Inn McLean. This is also the hotel that most of the participants stay.

A portion of the course will take place at Dr. Bronson’s office which is in walking distance from the Staybridge Inn.

About Dr. Turzo

Dr. Tasha Turbo DO, graduated from Western University, Pomona, California in 1994 where she received a Post Graduate Osteopathic Manual Medicine/Anatomy Fellowship.  She completed her internship at the UCSF Family Medicine Residency at the Santa Rosa Community Hospital.  She has been in private practice since 1995 practicing osteopathy, homeopathy, functional medicine, prolotherapy and RPR specializing in craniofacial dysfunctions. She is a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine where she has been a guest lecturer since 2007.  Dr. Turzo has been co treating patients and working monthly with Dr. Nordstrom since 1995.  She is also a founding member of AEI (ALF Educational Institute). Dr. Turzo is an internationally recognized expert in the application of osteopathy and functional dentistry, with a focus on the use of the Advance Lightwire Functional (ALF) devises and TMD.  Dr. Turzo has been teaching extensively in this field since 1997.
